Change your oil filter without redecorating your cowling. SPILLBILL slides over a horizontally mounted spin-on filter, reaches under the adapter where the oil actually drips, and drains it out a hose into your jug. No punctures, no plastic bags, no paper towels.

Anyone who's changed the oil on a horizontally mounted filter knows the drill: stuff bags and towels underneath, crack the filter, and hope. Oil goes down the case, down the cowling, and onto the hangar floor anyway.

SPILLBILL is a catch basin that goes on before you touch the filter. A tapered bill reaches forward under the adapter to where the oil actually comes off. A spring finger and two seat ribs grip the can so the tool stays put while you work, and the filter still turns freely inside it. Everything drains continuously through a 3/8" barb into whatever container you've got below.

Fit
Sized for 3.71" spin-on filters — Tempest AA48110-2, Champion CH48110-1, and equivalents. Both the short and long can work; the tool grips the first 45 mm from the gasket either way.

Your installation needs about 1" of clearance beside the filter and 3" below, plus room ahead of the gasket for the bill. Designed and tested on a Lycoming O-360-A4M. Other airframes vary — if it doesn't clear on yours, send it back and tell us what got in the way.
